Sustainability and caring for our planet are high up on the agenda for the wellness and spa industry and there is a conscious effort from industry leaders in reducing the carbon footprints of their activities for a healthy today and tomorrow. The deliberate effort to reduce energy consumption, procure eco-friendly products and educate suppliers is a big step in the right direction.

At LondonCryo, we recognise the importance of protecting the environment and using resources responsibly as a business partner, an employer and a community member. We aim to reduce the environmental impacts of our wellness clinic by increasing energy efficiency, purchasing environmentally responsible supplies, and working with companies that share the same ethos. 

We believe that personal wellness cannot be ensured without environmental wellness therefore we deem it necessary to pay back to the earth for its abundant resources. LondonCryo aims to be eco-friendly through ethical business practices, policies, and initiatives. 

To demonstrate our commitment, LondonCryo will be adopting an environmentally preferable resources policy with the following goals:

Use of energy efficient technologies

We are committed to only using LED lighting with timers. These lights are energy-efficient, free from mercury, produce zero toxic elements, and have a longer lifespan. Our equipment is turned off at night to minimize wastage and reduce energy use. 

No waste to landfills

LondonCryo uses the UK’s leading waste disposal firm, First Mile, for waste disposal and recycling. Our effort to work with the best in the industry demonstrates our commitment to recycling more and sending nothing to landfills. We intend to close the loop by sending waste to the recycling system to ensure that the raw materials for sustainable products are available. 

No use of plastic bottles

We understand the implications of pilling up plastic bottles in landfill and the resultant release of toxins. Therefore, LondonCryo has stopped using plastic bottles to reduce plastic waste. 

Promoting water conservation

We conserve water by partnering with suppliers who use water-saving practices and innovative technologies. Super Laundry, our laundry service provider, uses Ozon technology to wash bathrobes, towels, and other laundry. The process destroys bacteria and viruses without needing re-washes and conserves electricity and gas usage as Ozon gas works best with cold water. 

Spreading sustainability

We aim to widen awareness of the importance of sustainability by issuing a yearly sustainability report and communicating our current and future environmental and social sustainability policy to our guests and staff. We aim to encourage our suppliers to reflect our sustainability goals.

Here is what we have planned to do in the future:

  • Adopting sustainable practice at one point of service provision is not enough. As an integrated company working with many service providers, we aim to discuss our sustainability efforts with our suppliers and learn about their eco-friendly activities.

  • At LondonCryo, we intend to reduce the impact of our activities further and we will be donating our older towels and robes to charity. 

  • Our commitment to preserving the environment by remediating the impact of our business is unflinching. We therefore plan to conduct an independent review of our working facilities to assess potential sustainability ideas and initiatives.

  • We plan to increase the number of recycled products we use by buying bathrobes, gloves, and towels with the highest post-consumer recycled content and purchasing recycled plastic.
